"What reasons did OFSTED give for their decision?" Lack of respect amongst pupils towards each other. Previously was outstanding. Same as every other school if you dig deep enough.

"What reasons did OFSTED give for their decision? Lack of respect amongst pupils towards each other. Previously was outstanding. Same as every other school if you dig deep enough. " If they had any concerns about safeguarding it would drop straight to inadequate. Maybe they should focus less on results, and more on the personal development of their pupils. Saying that, I don't know the school. But they don't give inadequate without strong reasons.

I understand this was an unannounced visit and being a firm believer that education is about more than academic achievements I think the OFSTED rating was fair

Bring a good school isn’t just about churning out academically A grade students, but ensuring their wellbeing when in their care.

" Tom, phrasing what has been described by some ex pupils and some still there as a toxic culture towards female pupils involving allegations of sexual assault as 'a lack of respect' looks a tad casual.. The truth will as usual be somewhere in between but if pupils feel unsafe and especially for the reasons given then how else can the regulator grade it after carrying out their own assessment?

"Well there is more to this than meets they eye. The witchhunt has begun. Trust me on this one." I was in education for many years, latterly in a managerial post. Trust me, external inspections are necessary and full inspections are rigorous. There'll be a justifiable reason for their conclusions and the school will be expected to address them in an agreed time frame. Good education is far more than good results.
