Secret hideaway in the pennines

Who enjoys a good rummaged around a charity shop, we have an Emaus in Mossley and it's a wonderful place to go for a rummage around.

What bargins have you picked up on you trip to a charity shop

We love a rummage. I’m particularly obsessed just now with old China tea sets. Have so many mix and match sets from charity shops.

Got 2 lovely dresses recently one in my profile pic was one of them! Went on a coach trip to a posh area so posh clothes in charity shops good names! My kids loved them got all manor of toys and games when they were little! Some stuff is next to new x

Am a big fan of Emmaus , was at my local one only yesterday, picked up a few bargains best of which was a new in box LaCafetiere 8 cup, 24k Gold plated,vintage cafetiere for £5, on Ebay for anywhere between £30 and £40.

most of my cook books have come from there and all my glass storage jars

Cancer Research now have 26 superstores on various retail parks throughout the country.

Apart from some new stuff they have for sale everything else is under a fiver.

Did find on my travels prior to Covid that some other charities are going down the Superstore route, I do know my loacal Air Ambulance have a Superstore.

I have one of these local (ish) to me.

If I’m passing I always have a look. It’s like an addiction.

All kids clothing is £1 too. Got my son a river island coat the other week and my daughter a brand new with the tag playsuit for £2. Bargain.

Charity shop shopping reminds me of my nan so it’s another reason I love it. We used to do it together when I was a kid for books

I like to have a look around them. I love the newborn stuff because you're lucky if they are worn more than a couple of times and they are so cheap. Also great for kids toys if you don't want to spend a fortune and most are in good condition. I've got myself some gorgeous clothes brand new with tags plenty of times.

I always make sure to inspect items closely and never buy shoes, underwear or trousers. I volunteered in a charity shop once and some people have no shame and would hand in some shocking items.

I remember once I got my nephew a logo set worth about £400 for £20!! Absolute bargain bananaza. I love a carboot too.
