Facetime or skype I've done both to verify genuine and make sure those really nice pictures weren't from 10 years ago...

FaceTime on an iPhone or iPad is much better quality and yes it is free!

At the moment it works over wifi but there is talk of it being introduced to be used with 3G, nothing to do with iOS as that is the operating software so not sure what he meant lol

I meant free over 3g as in available to use on 3g networks instead of wifi only. Just to correct you... It does rely on iOS 6
