My partner had keyhole surgery on his lungs so a bit different . Amazes me how you can hardly even see the scars anymore though.

When he's done can you ask him to decorate my hallway next week?

I won't be there but I'm sure he could do it through the letterbox

Is it the famous Indian knee specialist doing the surgery ... Dr Patella?

I'm waiting for knee surgery, totally fucked my cruciate ligament, been told 3 to 6 months off my feet and on crutches, followed by a slow gradual recovery ,i was like have you met me i cant do a day off my feet! ( I've planned ahead and got a mobility scooter lined up!)

I thought it was my meniscus, theres loads of videos on the tube for strengthening healing ect as it can heal without surgery unless you got a flappy bit! theres even a meniscus surgery on there.

Apart from being imobile and obvs physio and strengthening the heal time seemed ok. But clearly i have no actual experience, just me trying to fix what I thought was a meniscus tear.

Really sore for about 24 hours.. Then pretty much back to. Normal. Do the physio though.

I've had keyhole surgery on my right knee - twice. When you wake up it feels like someone has hit your knee with a sledgehammer. The second time was worse, as I knew what pain I would be waking up to. I certainly wasn't up and about in a day. Months, more like, before it healed properly.

Depends what grade your acl damage is. If you need acl reconstruction it's a long road back to stabilise the knee joint.

I've had both knees done, one of them twice. They'll just be a small hole on each side with probably 2 stitches on each. As for how it'll feel afterwards after, everyone's different. You should be back to normal pretty quick.

Exactly the same as me.. i cant stop, my brain goes stir crazy after a day tops!

Its a bucket shaped scoop out of my lateral maniscus… with a flappy bit too which causes locking if i bend my knee fully.

Fingers crossed i get up and about sharpish!

Pretty sure they pump the knee joint up which is what causes the pain as it returns to normal. 3 little holes... Cut and then flush all the crap out.. I was very sore for a day but they got me up walking same day with pain relief.

Had same few years ago. Was in constant agony before the op. Was great for a couple of days after, then bit achy and tender for 5 days or so, after that was fine.

Knee did look the size of a football for a few days as well.

I think there going to try reconstructing and internally bracing or something if not succesful knee replacement. Can't bloody beleive it if I'm honest!

Knees are very complex joints.. How did you fuck it up? If it's unstable you have 3 choices.. Brace it.. Repair it.. Or strengthen the muscles around it... Removing the bucket handle is straightforward but repairing / replacing the acl takes elite athletes 6 months so mere mortals are going to be a good bit longer.

I've had 2 keyhole arthroscopies on my left knee. I would say a week to 10days depending on how bad the damage is. Hope all goes well.

I had meniscus surgery just under 2 years ago, my leg was locked in flexion so needed the meniscus to be repaired.

Posy surgery I was in a brace that kept my leg fully extended, had to wear this for 10 days.
