I'm able to put down the textbooks for a couple of months so I can finally read for joy again. Currently I've got Outsider by Stephen King on the go. It's more of a straight murder mystery than the horror he's typically known for but I'm really enjoying it so far.

What are you reading? Any recommendations?

Just finished Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman and wish I hadn't bothered - he's a very talented man but IMHO author is not his forte.

Currently reading Wish You Were Dead by Peter James which is a short Roy Grace story of about 100 pages.

After that I have a few options but leaning towards Roger Daltrey's autobiography

I found as the series continued the quality of the translation improved.

I work with a Polish lady and was discussing the books with her husband and apparently the early stuff is viewed as a little amateurish even in Polish so improve in the later books.

My favourite Stephen King book, by far, is his "On Writing".

It's half autobiography, but focused on why and how he became a writer, and half going into a bit more detail of the mechanics of writing.

It's incredibly entertaining and illuminating. A really useful and yet fun read, whatever sort of writing you may do, even if it's just emails at work!
