Just wondering if someone’s not interested in chatting or don’t like the profile why not just delete the message?

I get a lot of people who don’t respond but don’t delete the message either!

Sometimes it’s as simple as, I opened it and read it, and then got distracted and wandered off.

As others have said, don’t look in your sent box.

S/he might have got distracted, might want to show their partner, might be too busy, might have a thousand reasons for not replying instantly. Chill and accept that folk don't use Fab the same way you might.

This is the best way I find. Expect no reply and and remain open minded.

My own conclusion to the read and no reply not deleted is it’s a form of tease.

People find ways of getting off on little things...that’s just my own conclusion tho folks.

I think you're thinking way too deep on this tbh. Yes some like to brag how much mail they get, I've seen this on here but I'd put them in the same box as those who assume a person's who doesn't bother deleting is on an ego trip.... My work and personal emails don't get deleted as soon as I've read them either, so shoot me lol

The person could be exchanging messages with someone else at the time, browsing the forums or on cam/chat.

I can leave an interesting message for a couple of hours, if I’m just here reading or responding to comments on the forums.

Each person uses the site in their own unique way, hope for a reply but don’t expect one.

Because I don’t open most of the messages I get. So most don’t get deleted just because they haven’t been opened. Then when I do get around to deleting I usually just do a bulk delete of all read messages at some point. There really isn’t anything more to it than that. I don’t get off on the number of messages I have

You know when Standard Life send you junk mail through your letterbox offering you a free Michael Parkinson Parker pen? Do you think the bloke who sent the letter thinks ‘I sent that shefab guy a letter and he’s not responded’ ?

It’s two button clicks I don’t hVe to do, and it’s of no concern to the other party how I chose to manage our message folder.

I never thought about deliting messages, I guess I'm still getting use to fab though. I don't delete messages on other sites like Facebook.

I can assure you I don't show anyone, ever any messages from here so it's not some sort of ego thing. Just never knew I was meant to delete them.

As the site explains in the rules, no reply should be taken as not interested. I rarely delete messages, it can sometimes be handy to look back at them & often catches out the repeat messagers/copy & plasters.

CBA and they get deleted automatically after a short while…. Could be one explanation anyway.
