I admit it. I hate the summer. I'm not a miserable git, I'm a man that works. Just go away you humid energy sapping heat. Dry, revitalizing warmth, yes, I'll have a bit of that. However, UK wet overcast sauna heat, no thank you. A cool drizzly rain autumn day, my favourite. Funny thing is, all the people who say they love the hot summer, are the first to complain about being too hot. Am I alone in my hating?

Agree mate, coming from the mountains in N.ireland, we very rarely see the sun. My ideal day would be a winter frosty and clear day. Anything over 20 degrees I become a mess when working

I can’t be dealing with the heat - maybe being in a country more adapted to the heat but not now.

My sleep suffers - which makes me miserable!

Plus I love snowboarding, so I’d take that as much as possible! Gimme some snow on a mountain

My people! Well, mostly anyway.

There are days when I enjoy the heat - on the SUP, lazy beach days etc but in general not a fan of muggy heat, biting insects and overgrown footpaths. May and June are generally nice months then late August into Sept.

Spring and Autumn are the seasons with least to complain about - a wet blustery autumn day or biting hail storm in April have their appeal- mostly because they are changeable and rarely stick around for long. Winter is fine when it's cold and wintery, less so when it's cold, wet and dark for days on end.

In winter I love a log fire and hearing the crackle, snuggling up together, frosty ground and trees, winter sunrises, bring cold (love being cold) and the doing something to warm up. A walk and stopping to brew up, a snuggle together, chopping more logs for the fire.

And Christmas get together with people I love
