But I ll use the mask example to ask the question: If we no long HAVE to wear masks, would you out of respect for others still wear them in certain circumstances?

It was the "in this day and age" thread that made me wonder about how far we go to be respectful to other people.

Where do we draw the line? This applies to driving, to all sorts of (anti) social behaviour.

I think if we can prevent harm to others with minimum effort then that’s a good basis for a decent society. Wearing masks on public transport, etc if we have a cold and regular hand sanitising would all reduce the spread of many infections, and save the NHS a fortune.

I had this conversation with a really lovely taxi driver this morning and he said he was not bothered about people sitting in his cab without masks but it made me think I will probably continue in (small?) shops, cinemas, theatre etc. to protect / and make feel protected as that is a nice feeling to other people.

I will definitely respect distancing.

Yes, I suspect many of us thought it was odd that Asian visitors and tourists to UK wore masks so often but they’d had experience of other pandemic as well as awful air pollution in their cities, so we could have learned from them.

I got two taxis on Friday and neither were wearing a mask. It doesn't bother me a huge amount but I will continue to wear mine in shops and on public transport for a while yet I think.

I don't tend to wear one when I'm outdoors, it's only when I'm in an enclosed public space anyway, so it's not like it's some massive effort to continue.

Having said that, in the short term whilst everyone gets the chance to be double vaccinated I probably will... but once that’s the case and we’re as close as we’ll get to full vaccination, then we have to try to learn to live with this.

Yes, I had a sniffle/sore throat last week and... wildly different to pre-2020. Interesting to think about, our attitude to illness and risking other people.

I won’t wear a mask, I don’t believe that mask wearing is effective unless you wear the type that’s available to medical professionals.

In order to to be able to fight infection you have to become exposed to it either naturally or artificially ( vaccine)

I miss seeing people faces, we communicate through facial expression

I did a supermarket shop with my child today. So, the reason I mention my child is it affects the speed of the shop.

It wasnt until I got to the checkout that I realised I had forgotten my mask. I was mortified, explained, and appologised to the checkout guy.

No one said anything. No other staff or customers. No odd looks, nothing.

First time I have done that since this started, so I think people are just done with it now.

But it just shows, how its still not second nature to wear one.
