"Hi all Genuine post this. Last year we bought a new Range Rover. In the back it has a 12V Socket. So, we went to Halfords and bought a cheap inverter that you plug into the 12V socket and has a 240v socket at the other end. So, we were on a long drive and Mrs got in back of car (blacked out windows) and plugged in her 240V Hitachi wand. We noticed that occasionally the radio would turn on and off and the screen would go a little dimmer while the wand was in use. Two days later we had a major electrical fault with car and it Had to go in to Range Rover to be repaired under warranty. When I picked up the car I asked what the fault was and they said they had to change a certain electrical component. Knowing nowt about electrics I’d like to know if the use of the wand caused the cars electrics to blow. Cheers. " Electric wands put out high frequencies which may damage the cars electronics. I never thought my electronics traning would come in handy on Fab! | |||
