"To all the Middle Aged men out there who use moisturiser. Is it worth it? I was looking in the mirror this morning and thinking I look wrecked. I have a very stressful job with a company who is aggressively expanding across Europe. I am constantly tired through late nights and early starts but still manage to eat well and exercise often. Am I looking for a quick miracle fix or does moisturiser actually do something?" My fella like to think so , he has for years

It does work too and I can see when I've not used it

"Is there something about your skin that you feel makes it looked wrecked? Know if I don't stick to my skin care routine it looks worse than when I do " It’s always dry, blotchy and wrinkles are getting really pronounced. I have massive bags under my eyes permanently too. Part of the problem I think is the sheer amount I sweat when I exercise because I’m at it for a few hours at a time.

I've found its what I wash my face with that's important. Try an oil based cleanser or something creamy not one that strips the face.

"If your outdoors a lot a sunscreen would help, I'm ourdoors more than in have noticed my skin defo needs more protection and nourishment. I find nappy rash cream quiet usefull. I also put moisturiser on my hands before putting gloves on. If your pretty manual dust, mud, metals really sucks the moisture out of your hands. This is starting to sound a bit ooer mrs! Lol" I also rarely put chemicals as such on my face/body, my face is washed with water, i use coconut oil for most things.

Lol" You might be onto something, normally I’d say I’m rarely out in the sun. But then I do run outside a lot and even when the sun isn’t blazing it could be affecting my skin in a harmful way. I am ginger with a fair few freckles too

" If you’re wondering if it’s worth it, look at women who have been moisturising for years. Do you think they spent all that time keeping themselves looking good only to hang on the arm of a man who looks like a thumb that’s been in the bath too long? " Steady, I’m not THAT bad I don’t think

"I started to moisturise after shaving in my early 20’s. I was listening to the Capital Doctor with Anna Raeburn and she pointed out the importance but also to include your neck. She went on to say that your neck is a real give away as you age. I look fucking gorgeous! Who remembers the Capital doctor from I guess the early days of Capital radio?" I don't but I'd say neck and chest are just as important as face, also hands. If I had my time again I'd use moisturiser with SPF 30 and above on my face, neck and chest all year round
