I’ve noticed a few profiles that have screenshots within their profiles. I’m not going to jump to conclusions but I’m curious as to why this would happen.

Can folks give me an idea as to an innocent reason for this? At the moment I’m just seeing this a big red flag

Some of my pictures will look like screenshots but are fully approved by admin as all I'm doing is hiding my face or tattoos in mine.

I often screen shot photo, if it's from way back on the camera roll or in different album.

But I do crop it so it looks like normal

I've seen ones that are from other social media

Too lazy to scroll through photos so screenshotted to keep it near the top of the gallery in their photos folder.

I'd concur, on the whole far too suspicious, but to offer an couple of 'innocent' ideas, some people just aren't tech-savvy and a shared photo of themselves taken by someone else might be screenshot instead of saved. similarly, not being able to 'find' the photo on the upload page, it gets screenshot from the galery and is then at the top of the upload page.

Both pretty slim, I know!!

I took screenshots of photos from my kink site profile. Some got through, others were rejected.

Just made me go and hunt down the originals and get rid of anything that was an obvious screenshot.

I also have taken stills from videos we make, most of which you can tell as they have a black border.

Seen a “couples” yesterday whare all the pics off the woman were snap chat screen shots wonder if she knows she’s on fab

I always make people take a picture with a hamster in their mouth so I know they’re real, so far everybody I have spoken to has been fake

Pic will have like WiFi sighe in it time or even parts off the phones interface like back buttons and stuff that shouldn’t be there

Like how I new it was a snap for snap chat as there was a timer in the top corner and could see the phones interface time and WiFi and signal

The format of the picture is different. It’s very easy to crop them to hide that, but I was wondering what reasons others had as to why someone would screen shot their own pictures.

It seemed quite suspicious to me but I didn’t want to jump directly to cynicism.

To be honest there are quite a few valid reasons on this thread

If we’re going to stop asking questions based around our observations and experiences on fab, then the forums are going to be very quiet indeed. It’s a wide enough question to be of relevance to others on the forums, hence my posting.

It had never crossed my mind to be honest. Every pic I’ve put on has been screenshot from my vault. It looks no different though! I’ve never had all those Snapchat, tiktok type apps so maybe they’re different x

They aren’t classed as screenshots unless they show symbols on the phone’s screen. Should we see profiles with screenshots or any other pics that fall outside the rules then we need to report them to admin. Admin are human beings and make mistakes, that would explain the odd one slipping through the net. I’m sure a little assistance is much appreciated in the site’s constant battle against fake profiles etc. It’s no good ppl complaining about fakes etc we have to report it when we see it
