Mooooorning. Just wondering what time your furry friends wake up. Atm my little chap gets up anytime from 5 I did get a lie in today though ~ 5.25!

I've never been a morning person but it's actually quite a nice part of the day.

I'll be buzzing by 9.30

Hefty Hideaway

Oh mine is happy to laze until I get up. Often he will get straight into bed once I wake and not move a muscle for hours.

The rattle of his lead is his alarm and he’ll be up like a shot then.

Baby pup here and he likes to get up 5-5.30.

Which works for us but the 3am puppy cries when we first got him weren't our favourites

Ours is sound asleep until 5:30 which he knows is when his morning walk should start. He will be waiting by the front door with his tail wagging.

Yes, puppy here to. 14 weeks old so I'm telling myself this is short term because his bladder is small to. We've had a 5 day run of no wees on his puppy pad so I just think he wants to go outside, which us brilliant. If only he'd go back to bed!

What breed do you have?

Mine usually starts his attempts to wake me about 5.45

He wakes me up gently though

It's a seven step plan

1. Sneak on bed

2. Lie down and look at Dad to assess the situation

3. Sidle up to Dads chest so he's in no doubt I'm there

4. Wag tail gently when I see Dads eyes open

5. Enjoy sleepy strokes

6. Give Dad kisses if he dares close his eyes

7. Repeat until Dad has had enough and gets up

Today, however, I actually beat him (or rather my bladder did )

So, he was happily having his morning walk and ritual sniffathon by 6am

Awwwwww.

My puppies routine is:

Wake and whine for 5 minutes in his crate until we get to him.

Run I circles around us until he lies on his back for a morning belly rub.

Go in the garden for a massive wee.

Runs in and waits impatiently while we prep his breakfast.

Hoover's his food up in around 60 seconds.

Looks around for more food.

Plays/chews.

Go for a 15 minute walk.

Snack/plays/chews

Zonk out for an hour or so.

Repeat!

Mines very similar.

He's 13 weeks on Sunday.

We tried the walk immediately when we got him up but he's far too interested in checking that we are still alive and that we still love him first

Those morning needy puppy cuddles though. It's like a drug

My 13 week old goes in to his crate around 9.30 and comes out again when I get up around 7.15. I’ve only had to take him out of it in the night once in the 5 weeks he’s been here. I am very lucky

The minute I breathe or move to show any sign of life and that I’m not in fact dead he thinks it’s time to wake me up, generally by climbing on my head or licking my face

I'm sure there's a direct link between whether your puppy was from a house breeder or a kennel breeder.

My boy was from an outside kennel breeder so coming in the house was a big scary thing. When we shut that door, what if we never come back.

I guess if he'd spent his first 8 weeks in a house he'd be better

He's never slept in my room, always in the kitchen. I can hear him and as a pup if he needed to be let out he would make noise. But he's gone longer and longer at holding it and it just becomes routine

My old bulldog used to have go out around 03:00 in the morning every morning. Because of the enjoyment he gave me I would put up with it.

The lady dog I have now must have a bladder of steel as I get up and open the door at 07:00 and she just raises an eye at me and goes back to sleep.

Does anyone else watch Bunny the "talking dog"

Basically she has loads of word buttons and talks to her mum by pressing the buttons.

Yesterday Bunny was asleep and doing the whole growly twitchy leg dog dreams so they tried something.

Woke her up gently whilst in that stage and asked her ..

"What talk sleep?"

Which translated into Bunny talk means what happened, use your buttons, when asleep

Bunny went to her buttons and pressed "stranger animal"

How fucking clever and cool is that!!
