When deciding what length of dress you're going to wear?

I'm asking from a scientific and non perversive side of view

Is there a reasoning behind each length and correlation to chosen decolletage?

I never used to wear short skirts or dresses but now I don’t give a fuck that I’m fat, I just have my legs out all the time.

I have dresses that are just above the knee for every day wear (when I’m not at work) and I have dresses that just about cover my ass for going to clubs

I do boobs or legs, not both.

But often the length or how low cut it is doesn’t come into it if I just like the style of the dress and I like it on, I’ll get it.

I won’t go as short as I used to as I don’t like my thighs x

I only wear from mid thigh to midi length as I don't do maxi and short dresses that skim my bum do not look good on my body. I'll wear all of my dresses pretty much anywhere.

I'm a whisker over 5ft. I don't have a choice in length of dress. It's long or very long really.

In fact I once wore a dress I bought in a charity shop for ages before someone told me it was actually a top.

What I wear depends on my mood, the weather and the occasion.

I wouldn't wear the same style dress to a wedding as a club.

I still wear short dresses and skirts in winter but with woolley tights or leggings.

I take into account that the skin below my knee on the left leg burns like a bitch if fabric swishes over it, plus maxi dresses catch in the wheels, so I go with dresses that end at the knee (or shorter)

Just depends on activity planned. Whatever suits the mood mostly. I'm more focused on colour, trend, print than the length or cleavage style for example.

Depends what I’m doing, where I’m going and who’s going to be there.

For a funeral/wedding probably just above the knee.

I do have a couple of mid thigh length dresses, but I sometimes feel a bit self conscious I’m that length.

The vast majority of dresses in my wardrobe are bodycons, cut above the knee. Some are fit for Henley, others for a night out (cleavage cut and sleeve length are a factor)

I have the odd longer one for very formal occasions but never wear maxi dresses - they annoy the hell out of me, getting tangled around my long legs.

With bum hugging dresses, I always wear leggings, or thick tights for daytime.

I have a separate collection of micro dresses for party or club wear, when jaw dropping in more the intention

Ie night club or swingers club as short as possible with a little roll up knee length max that I can throw on to get to the place and remove and roll up and throw in my hand bag ones there

For like shopping lunch and dinner dates and stuff knee to mid length don’t want to be showing to much or look to inappropriate

And maxi for all who dosent love a figer huging maxi dress look

Pattie dress is your best bet places like ASOS missguided and pritty little thing do a grate selection

If I want a dress to be shorter than it should be I order it in a Pattie if they have it

If I want it to be longer ie mini dress but would rather it in knee to midi length I order it in tall spec

And if I just want it it’s normal length I just order it in normal

Ie if it’s thigh huging then wouldn’t say so

But if it dose not hug the thigh and everyone can see up it and see what’s you had for breakfast then yes

I try to stay away from them

As no matter what you can see what I had for breakfast

I'm nearly always in knee length/ mid calf length vintage dresses. On the rare occasion I go shorter it's usually because it's really hot. But I hate my chubby thighs, so I usually try to avoid that.

I wear floor length dresses for more formal or fancy occasions, or if I just feel like a princess that day.
