I've just met someone at the gym today who has been pretending to workout for over 3 years but actually just sits in the cafe drinking tea and eating cake. He lies to his wife to impress her. Does anyone else do this?

Maybe he was actually eating cake and drinking coffee?

I have seen many women after gym went and bought a big mac and cola

Whats the point

Maybe it's in their calories. I had a kfc last night but was still in my calorie deficit for the day including the exercise I did at the gym.

Or maybe they just fancied a McDonald's that day?

The gym has a café?! Mine has a vending machine. It sells water, padlocks (for lockers), microfibre towels, hand sanitiser and face masks. No food

I lift (seated only). I wear weightlifting gloves to lift. I also wear them for pushing my wheelchair. I can't afford injuries to my hands/fingers if I can avoid it. Trying to push up a massive hill with a palm full of blisters is fucking painful.

I do have calluses from lifting and pushing but they're nowt to about about.

We’ll say for instance a 70kg washing machine or something

May be able to lift 70 on a bar with gloves but when you not got them you go to lift the washing machine you not developed the nesrey stuff on your hands to hold that wight

That’s how lot people get hurt

Go to the gym and use machines now the machine is takein 30% off the load wight so 100kg Is really 70kg

Also it’s not ingading stability muscle in the back

They go to lift something in the real world look at the wight 80kg and go I can lift 100 in the gym that can lift that no problem

Boom back out why because they really only been lifting 70kg plus stabler muscle in the back haven’t developed

Some of us aren't going to be lifting washing machines or whatever. We're trying to build specific muscle areas to help in other sports or parts of life. It's not about numbers all the time.

Also it’s not ingading stability muscle in the back

They go to lift something in the real world look at the wight 80kg and go I can lift 100 in the gym that can lift that no problem

Boom back out why because they really only been lifting 70kg plus stabler muscle in the back haven’t developed

This is utter bollocks lol people put their backs out lifting washing machines because of poor form not because of smooth hands

Really is that why I have gameplan and stuff for people at the top 1% off a spot is why everyone knows me is that why I have legendary status among pros in a spot

Literally no idea what that said "

I sit with pro every weekend and talk shop at the highest off levels even help world champion and stuff

"Can’t hide the pads just a fact off it

Love when I come cross people in real life who clame to lift

And you look at the inside off they hands and they soft and not developed callus is they hands

I just stand there rolling my eye while rubing my own with my thumb ha ha

Gloves?

Stop you from developing the nesser hardness on you hands for real word things what’s the point off going to just be a show peice if you can’t apply it in real world situations

What real world things?

I don't wear gloves btw, just like challenging :-judgyness p

We’ll say for instance a 70kg washing machine or something

May be able to lift 70 on a bar with gloves but when you not got them you go to lift the washing machine you not developed the nesrey stuff on your hands to hold that wight

That’s how lot people get hurt

Go to the gym and use machines now the machine is takein 30% off the load wight so 100kg Is really 70kg

Also it’s not ingading stability muscle in the back

"Talking of workout calluses - they’re great fun to pick and fiddle with, right?

I have hours of fun with mine (then have to sand them down a bit)

I file mine with an emery board to smooth them over

I have had a warped brainwave: This would make for a great photo challenge on here; ‘Show me your callus’.

Sexy or what? (Or possibly not) "

Ohhhhhhhhh, what a sexy suggestion

I raise you my broken/wonky/blistered wheelchair fingers and calluses over your lifter's palm

Can I say that weightlifting gloves are the absolute best things for wheelchairing? My palms are my brakes, so unless I want horrific friction burn, gloves are essential. Most brands of cycling or wheelchair-specific glove are too flimsy or ill fitting, but Nike weightlifting gloves are bloody brilliant (other brands are available ).

So you are sticking the premise that people throw their backs out lifting washing machines solely because they don't have calluses?!

Nothing to do with poor form or awkward loads?!

That's your professional, highly knowledgeable opinion?

If you say so I bow to your world famousness

No but he sounds like my type of bloke
