Eeek a spotty break out just before a meet! Help

It has been years since I suffered badly with acne in my teens, but very VERY occasionally I get a spot on my face.

Usually this doesn't phase me and it can be easily covered in makeup, however as it is such a rare occurrence now I don't have any spot cream or treatment in my bathroom cabinet.

I feel after getting a couple of facial break outs recently I should invest in some good spot treatment to plaster on at even the 1st sign of one.

Can anyone recommend a good product that can be purchased without prescription from a chemist?

I want something that dries up any blemish quickly.

Your help will be appreciated Forumites.

Thanks.

Away with the faeries

Ah..what a pain!

Toothpaste can work very well, but make sure it isn't the whitening formula. I ended up with a black spot on my cheek, 2nd day of a new job.

The plain white paste should work a charm. Good luck!

I've tried pretty much everything on the market. Nothing works best than micellar water, just clean your face and leave it alone, it will soon go away.

Oh and don't stress about it regarding meets, if that person is bothered about a spot they need to give their head a wobble!

Ah that is why the toothpaste trick didn't work. I used whitening paste.

I do use this as my cleansing lotion. It's absolutely the best for removing makeup I have found.

If you mail me to get past your filters for women, I can send you a photo of something I got off eBay. Relatively cheap and brilliant.

Vitamin D, either from the sun or dare I say a quick trip to a sun bed seems to clear me up after a few days, sadly I don’t think there is a quick fix though.

It isn't necessarily quick, but salicylic acid products help. Serum from Revolution (heavily fragranced - that usually bothers me but it doesn't for some reason) between cleansing and moisturiser, or several people (Inky List, The Ordinary) do salicylic acid cleansers
