Very true yes, but when song was written . Songwriters were a lot more astute in lyrics. So made sure meaning was ambiguous etc . Now more “upfront” . So no ambiguity . ?

Some music these days still has that edge! Depends on the artist but a lot are more “lay it down on the line” but I guess the aim in that is to spread a message. Influencers so to speak. God knows! Music comes in all forms and if it strikes it strikes!

I partly agree , but prefer if lyrics have perhaps double meaning rather than . “ get down and fuck” type. At least then younger children can listen and eventually work out meaning or choose meaning ?
