Newcastle and Gateshead

I didn’t realise this was such a hot topic.. but there is a legit argument going on in my Twitter timeline at the moment…

Where do you keep your tomato ketchup? In the fridge or in the cupboard??

I keep mine in the cupboard… never heard of keeping it in the fridge!

So which of you weirdos want to speak up???

Somewhere In The Ether…

I keep peanut butter and marmite in the cupboard though as it’s harder to spread when cold.

Am I exonerated?

Once open it recommends keeping in the fridge, consume within 8 weeks? I don't give a shit but prefer cupboard so it doesn't set me teeth into electric shock from having hot n cold at the same time

"Fridge for the red

Cupboard for the brown "

Is that some kind of euphemism?

We have various things in the fridge that don't need to be there ketchup being one them. They are there because we're really short of cupboard space. We'd happily keep them in a cupboard if we had space.

Cupboard. I've never had tom sauce go mouldy.

I did have a tube of tom puree explode once tho. That was impressive.

Dining table here too. Cafes don’t put theirs away every night and I wouldn’t put fresh tomatoes in the fridge - that’s probably another debate

I read the manufacturer's instructions on the item for storage recommendations.

Problem solved.

Typically it tends to be creamy types sauces in the fridge, and non-creamy sauces in the cupboard.

Seeing as it's my lad that eats it there's normally a dollop on the work surface, a cple of dollops on the dining table god forbid any actually gets onto his food, and it must have legs or I've got a ghost because one day its on the table, next in his room I put it in the cupboard and low and behold it will appear somewhere else and whenever I ask him did he leave it there the answers always "it wasn't me" and as for when it's finished and all squeezed out he finally finds it a home the kitchen side that is 2 foot away from the bin
