Don't know if cropper is back, he had to leave the MG's when the label they were signed to Atlantic became a black artist only label

a shame that, duck dunn and steve cropper played on an awful lot of black artists hit records and so people actually thought they were black too!.

Booker t and the mg's

Two black guys, two white and the front man was a black guy, took a long time to get that kind of integration in the states afterwards

Not forgetting WAR of course, truly integrated multiracial with Latinos and Hispanics too

Donald Duck Dunn died a few months back.

Steve Cropper played with Otis Redding a lot as well.as Booker T.

One of my fave tracks is Jelly Bread by Booker T and the MG's

Thats what made them so versatile as musicians and song writers. A lot of big names wouldn't have had the success they had without them.

Don't forget the Blues Brothers to add to the list.

Fuquawl is another cool track of Booker T and co.

i can remember telling people in 60s that the guys playing bass & guitar onthese records were white guys!,but they never believed nme cos they thought only black musicians played on black records!,shook them again when dusty springfield was approached by black labels to sign for them.
