My ex did.

In fact, that was how he managed to live the double life he lived. Pandemic struck and there was no more hiding the truth.

I wouldn't meet people working away now due to this, it's a red flag to me now.

Who am I kidding? everything is a fucking red flag to me now.

When I’m working away the only thing I’ve been interested in with s getting home to people I care about. To be honest there’s very slim pickings in Iraq

I have had fun working away. Met an absolutely lovely girl when I was working at Sellafield for a few months. Don't think she is on Fab anymore and I can't remember her username.

Dublin

It does seem to be there if you want it, I imagine people are more comfortable meeting a person that they might not see again or have an arrangement for something ongoing.

What a truly horrible experience!

I would not meet people who work away from home unless I had a really established relationship with them - in other words I would need to be sure they are not attached.

Used to spend 150-175 nights a year in hotels all over the UK, Ireland and Europe. I can confirm other than the odd cheeky conversation, it never worked for me.

We were "together" almost 2 years, had a couples profile on here.

I knew all his workmates, he knew all of mine and all my friends. I knew about his wife but had been assured he was single, that they were only still married because divorce was expensive. That even though they shared a house, they were separate entities who's relationship had been over for good 18 months before we first spoke. The house was their daughters future and as he was there only a few days a month it worked fine.

That was not the full story. In fact, story is exactly what it was.

The fallout has been me losing faith. Me losing any desire for another human to get close to me, emotionally and physically. I think he believed what he was telling me to a certain degree, I was foolish for accepting it as truth, even though in his own mind, to justify things to himself it was partly his truth, but I do think deep down he knew what he was doing. He was very good at leaving information out. Game changing information.

I should have twigged he was adept at lying and justification when he saw no wrong in declaring himself a non smoker, when in fact he smoked more than me.

Always seem to be "passing businessmen" or contractors here for 3-4 months whose profiles state that they can't accommodate but can while they're here in a hotel...
