I've been trying meditation videos as the pills make me too groggy.

Nothing seems to be helping

I used to do a lot of on call shifts and it has permanently screwed my sleep patterns so I know the feeling well

Well we could cuddle up and you can snuggle into me if you want while we watch something together.

If you fall asleep in my arms I know that your fully relaxed in my arms next to me.

"Have you tried camomile tea or melatonin?"

No but heard that melatonin helps, may have to give it a go. Always weary of taking tablets.

Insomnia is evil! I hate it.

I used to only get in the summer when it was uncomfortably warm. Then something changed in 2018 and it didn't resolve with the cooler weather.

By March 2019 it was at its worst and I think I slept maybe a few hours in two weeks.

I tried everything, all of the recommended steps, cognitive behavioural therapy, all of the different herbal teas and tablets. Nothing worked. I could literally be ultra relaxed and have nothing on my mind and still couldn't sleep.

Was given Zopiclone, didn't work. Was given Temazepam, didn't work. Finally they gave me Zolpidem and that worked a treat thankfully, as I was about to go crazy from sleep deprivation.

I managed to get away with 10mg for eighteen months and then my body became tolerant of that too. Now I take 20mg and I'm asleep within 20 minutes of taking it.

The only problem is the sleep clinic have done nothing to identify or help with the core issue. If I try to taper back down to 10mg, I can't sleep again.

If I'm exhausted during the day and my eyes are hanging out, I can darken the room, get into bed and I'll just lay there with my eyes closed.

I literally can't sleep without the Zolpidem but I can sleep just fine with it.

I don't like relying on tablets but I don't want to go back to sleep deprivation either.

Insomnia is evil!
