Do you ever unblock people?

Could someone redeem themselves enough in your eyes?

Either you met them in person at a party or a social and thought 'actually, they're not as bad as I tgought' or if you've blocked because of forum posts has anyone made you change your mind about them?

I unblocked most of the people on our block list, not because they had redeemed themselves but I changed how and why we block people.

The people who have been dicks or rude in messages are still blocked and I doubt meeting them in person would change my opinion of them.

It’s happened before with a misunderstanding, she thought I was a knobhead, but slowly overtime she came to realise that the knobhead she blocked was the very man who could turn things around for her, but it turned out her first impression was correct, what I’m saying is trust your gut instinct.

Everytime I add a new fugly to the list, I check back at the rest...I did unblock once because their picture looked decent, but the rest of their pictures were terrible so straight back to the blocklist again!

A lot of people do it to stop profiles they've checked out and thought not to be a good match coming up in their searches and vice versa, not to mention save the person they're blocking from wasting their time messaging.

It's actually a positive step when you think about it that way

People block for all sorts of reasons.

The majority of my block list is people who are too local or people iv recognised as people i know.

"I unblocked most of the people on our block list, not because they had redeemed themselves but I changed how and why we block people.

The people who have been dicks or rude in messages are still blocked and I doubt meeting them in person would change my opinion of them."

Used to block people I didn’t want to meet or those that had nasty views in forums. Now it’s rare I block anyone, most people aren’t that bad! unless they repeatedly send hi , how are you messages, it’s just annoying.

I tried to avoid blocking anyone, but after one guy started getting a bit persistent, ignoring my requeats for him to stop messaging, saying I clearly wanted him as I hadn't blocked him, he made that quite easy.

I did meet a guy who was a dick on the forums but nice and respectful in person. I didn't unblock him because he was still going to be a dick on the forums and the reasons I had blocked him remained.

Thinking about it now I was probably wrong but it made absolutely no difference to him that he was blocked so I'm not going to worry about it.

I'm never going to be in the position of unblockiing because, I never block in the first place, having found over the years that ignoring is far more effective. However, sometimes when I search local profiles, I discover that I'm blocked. The first thing that I wonder is, what's their problem, so I get one of the boys to do some delving, and it usually means that they know who I am, like the neighbour down the road, who might not be too comfortable if he thought that there was a chance of the entire street knowing he is a cuck. Then there was a client who turned out to be a struck off medical health professional, and his partner. He was actually trying to get reinstated, and possibly not comfortable with me finding out about their alternative lifestyle. Then there has been single women who have me blocked, and when I've had them checked out, it's emerged that they don't accept messages from guys of my age group. I've never quite understood why anyone would block someone who can't message them anyway, unless it's again that they people who I am in regular contact with, who actually do know who I am, and don't want me finding out who they are. I wonder if any other experienced, and established people are having this with peeps in their locality blocking for no apparent reason.

She blocked us, or me, for a dry sense of humour comment.

We met in a club just after we came out of an orgy.

I was totally dehydrated and she was randy.

What was impressive was L,

This is what I do. Also people in my local updates posting things I don’t want to see… I block them too. Some people might think it’s harsh but I see it as saving everyone’s time.

no they are on there for a reason well many reasons i dont just block nasty / abusive people but i also pre block those who i have zero interest if local to save time further down the line.. i also use it to block forum people who decide to be abusive via pm forum people who post nasty stuff /homophobic /sexit crap /racist / kink shamers so i block alot

This is an interesting point. I don’t unblock people but I had a similar discussion with a friend about a mutal aquaintance. This MQ finds me direct and forthright and sometimes crass, yes I can be all of these but I can be calm, sensible and caring. Especially in younger days I would be very hot and cold.

I sware people block me in here for my views on certain things (football related), however if people knew me for things like happy to go to a museum or go for a long walk, or read about social history it would confuse people

I used to block those who weren't compatible with me as far as interests etc went for about the first year.

Then I stopped that and blocked people who pissed me off in messages, or even their opening message was eye rolly, in an attempt to whittle the pool down.

Then I stopped that and just ignore most of my messages anyway, and have done for years. It was clearly stated on my profile I rarely read messages so no cunt could whinge they weren't warned or that I was a stuck up bitch.

My block list must have been knocking onto a thousand over the course of that time.

A few months back I had an issue where my block list vanished. Literally one person on it who I had just blocked. Nobody could work out what happened and everyone who was on it still seems to be blocked so even if I wanted to unblock anyone who was on the original list I can't, coz they don't show on my list.

I prefer to make private notes these days, coz I used to block for different reasons I wouldn't know now if it was someone who was a total cunt or simply someone who didn't match what I wanted at the time. I need more to go on as a reminder

I have accidentally blocked somebody and did not realise until much later - I unblocked them.

I have blocked people based on forum behaviours, not because they have a different opinion from mine but because of how they treated other people. Usually not a one off but a regular pattern I did not like.

I have given people second chances - since everybody can have a bad day occasionally...
