Solovair v Dr.Martens boots?

Does anyone have any experience of Solovair boots that are reputed to be better made (in Northampton) than Docs.

I had a pair of Dr. Martens For Life boots a few years ago, but they were awful; I donated them to a charity shop on Botanic Avenue, Belfast.

The soles were too thin; no half sizes were available; the insole was awful; the heel collapsed and caused me pain.

Has anyone ever bought a pair of Solovair; I don't want to make another expensive mistake.
