Joni Mitchell’s ‘Blue’ at 50

Happy 50th Birthday this week to one of the greatest albums ever made - Blue by Joni Mitchell.

Almost every track is a classic in its own right and the whole thing is a masterpiece of confessional singer songwriting.

This might be Fab’s most niche thread ever but any other Joni M fans or admirers of this classic record ?

One of the first albums I ever purchased. It is one of those rare albums where every track is as amazing and hauntingly beautiful as the one before it.

I've immersed myself in all kinds of music my whole life, and periodically I return to Blue. Every time so far her voice is like nails down a blackboard.

Maybe one day it will click x

Hi and it’s always good to have opposite opinions! One of my best friends hates Joni and Prince, two of my favourites, although we agree on almost all other music.

No she is a one off and she still has a very good voice.

My favourite from that album is "little green" - but I love all the albums, especially the early ones.
