Quoting posts

Yeah it's good and gives context, but could I humbly request when quoting posts that people trim the fat and just quote the relevant bit they're replying to?

Once it's got past a couple of requotes it gets a right fag trying to scroll past.

Thanks in advance!

I have a sneaky suspicion this thread might end up a particular way.

I try to do that (highlight etc, delete) but I ALWAYS end up deleting past the quote marks, and for some incomprehensible reason, that really irks me.

It's a pain in the arse to delete back on a small phone screen. Cursor speeds up and before you know it you've deleted prev relevant quotes then you have to go back into the thread and start again. Is it so annoying to have a lot of grey text?

Sorry.

You're right it is a bit of a pain. But it is considerate to others and helps readability of a thread. Plus, hand-eye coordination training, for free!

Who would do that sort of thing?

The OP clearly isn't too fond of it and for good cause.

Quoting and leaving all the excess waffle ends up taking up a lot of screen space. To add to that you've got to trawl through lots of emotes

to find the relevant sentence. It just makes sense to quote the bare minimum.
