So a lot of my friends over a number of years have took up fishing I've never really been a big fan of just sitting there with a rod trying to catch some fish I don't think I could let alone catch a fish on here let alone a real one anyone out there that fishes

You nwed to decide if you are sport fishing or putting them in the keep net, then adapt your catching style accordingly

Amsterdam

I fished quite a lot when younger, it can be a very relaxing and exciting activity! I do enjoy it still

But not in a little artificial pond full of planted fish, that just feels odd

With a cracking view

I'm trying to master the art of fly fishing ... yeah, right, like that's going to happen ! lol

I also go spinner fishing, so both take me away from the 'sitting there' option.

It means I'm actively fishing in my eyes, but sometimes, it's nice to stop and take in your surroundings.

You either get fishing or you don't, there's not a lot in between. The important thing for me is being outdoors in the peace and quiet. I would guess that I've seen wildlife during my fishing trips that the majority of the population have never seen? I don't get golf. To me it is the most pointless "sport" if you can call it that? But 1000's do it every day so there must be something to it? Each to their own

North Norfolk

I go after the mackerel along the North Norfolk coast when they’re about.

I try for the big bass in that part of the world with some success

I can't fish but there's something thrilling about seeing a rod bob up and down when a fish bites.

That is the beat bit especially if you are fishing for something that tries to pull the rod out of your hand !

Love spinning, fly and also big river fishing. Op, target pike, perch, zander whilst spinning, trout and grayling whilst fly fishing and barbel on big flowing rivers you'll soon find it's all very active with no hanging around so no time for boredom.

Reading

I have been fishing since age 5. Rivers , lakes and sea. Sometimes a few hours or a week on a lake. Apart being out in fresh air, even in bad weather. As another poster has said. Seen more wildlife that normally perhaps one would see on tv etc. Sometimes very close up .

I lack the skills for fishing.. Went fishing not too long ago, my mate and his son caught a couple of small pike each, then in that same amount of time... I managed a wonderful 0.. Lol
