Just booked a flight to USA for that week in between Christmas and New Years…

Now I’m like shit what if we are still not allowed to travel….

They can’t keep us grounded forever can they?

Anything is possible with this lot but currently the suggestion is that vaccinated people will be increasingly permitted to travel by the UK.

But it takes the USA to permit us to enter there too, without restrictions. Biden has pulled them back from the brink, so 2 previously poorly managed countries now seem to be heading for a calmer time. It's all subject to new variants, mistakes or other issues. I'd assume it would be fine then

Most travel companies are offering free changes at present, which is good

Good luck, we need some normality soon, we will eventually need to live with this like ‘flu as I don’t think it’s ever going away.

Thing is Winter is when things like ‘flu and the ‘Rona tend to peak so don’t be surprised if we’re still being told “just a few more weeks to see this off once and for all” around then.

Does your travel insurance include appropriate cover?

Thanks everyone, I tweeted Virgin and they have the flight side covered. So lovely of them... I can changed amend if need be and get one name change for free if I cannot rebook rearrange go etc

As for travel insurance buying that this morning... any recommendations?

D*unken injuries need to be included

Seriously though about to have a look and see who covers covid if I am unlucky to get that while in USA, do not fancy that medical bill!

Just remember its always best to get a refund if they cancel. Change/amend doesn't mean u get the flight at the same price....bare in mind if they cancel it majority of those people will be looking as well which drives price up due to more demand. So u might pay more

Being offered a voucher isn't acceptable a friend of mine has had 3 flights cancelled with BA and chosen vouchers each time.

When yr stuck with a voucher if the airline/travel company goes bust u lose yr money.
