Is it really true that you should only give raw bones and not cooked bones to dogs .. ?

Years ago they ate anything. Is it Dog Health and Safety gone mad...

Depends if you want to pay for the surgery of splintered cooked bones when they perferate the bowel or not really?

Yep, absolutely true as they splinter, especially chicken and lamb bones.

You also shouldn't give them grapes (including dried currants & raisins) or any of the onion family.

Raw meat can up-set their stomachs and give them diarrhea due to fact they are always fed cooked meats...ie: dry food or tinned food..

So you can't feed them cooked meat and you can't feed them raw meat.. surely all dogs came from wolves...they never are cooked meat...they ate the three little piggies

Yes dogs do originate from wolves but humans domesticated them and then their intestines changed as humans didn't want to feed them a raw meat diet.

My Bull Terrier ate a raw pig shoulder bone when he was young. It splintered and he was passing blood and bone for days.

Definitely not cooked chicken bone a bigger bone would be better or raw, even now they eat anything but you don't know the damage being done inside, but we should know better, animals suffer in silence

You shouldn't give them any type of bone. There's always a risk of choking, digestion issues and damage to their teeth. Anything raw also comes with the chance of infection with harmful bacteria.

You need to protect your dogs stomachs like you do your own
