Why don't people rotate all their pictures into portrait format before posting?

With smart phones when you rotate the phone to view the picture , the bloody phones rotate the picture back to portrait.

And yes - it is important !!!

Mr Ranter and Mrs Raver.

As long as the content of the pic is the right way round, I really don't care if it's portrait or landscape

On a phone you will have a "Media" button...

In Media you will have a settings button...

There should be an "orientation"

command to turn on or off...;-)

A few of my pics, no matter how many times I rotate the original copies and re-upload them, they NEVER go the right way round.

Technology isn't all it's cracked up to be at times!

You can use GIMP or PS, but even the Photo Viewer built into Windows has a button to rotate pictures AC or CW and it will save for you automatically.

I'll try this. Bit of a Luddite if I'm honest which isn't good for a 24yr old!

you can... not sure whether it really flips it, or just toggles the bit in the exif tho...?

I like gimp because you can crop, scale and %age compress the jpg to make a neat picture large enough to see and small enough not to take up oodles of space on the site
