Thinking of amazing vocal performances in modern music, as a recording artist.

A standout example that always tops my list is the inimitable Clare Torry on Pink Floyds seminal “The Great Gig in The Sky”.

I’ve forgotten her name, but the guest vocalist on “The church of the poisoned mind” by Culture Club was good.

Liz Fraser and Tracy Thorn with Massive Attack respectively.

Helen something. She also later sang with the scissor sisters. Which, disappointingly, was not a reference to their preference for inc3stuous sexual positions
