Secret hideaway in the pennines

For one reason or another over this second set of lockdown restrictions, I have found I have become more of a recluse, cutting myself off from my friends.

Today however I have ventured out to see one of my màates that I haven't seen since December.

It made me realise how introverted I had become

2020 made me reclusive but it had nothing to do with covid.

I've been out for food and had actual sex with another person in between lockdowns.

I really have. I've given up making an effort with my real life friends as I was always the one making it and never got anything from them unless I reached out, and I've even found myself distancing from family as my head has been so all over the place.

But yet since it's been allowed I've been happy to travel the country to meet fab friends (sexy and platonic alike). As long as ot hasn't involved going out in public anyway.

I'm definitely more of a screw up than I was pre covid. Does that help?

Naturally im introverted but it has had the opposite effect for me. Because I haven't seen people much I have become more social if anything when I do get together with people.

In my 30s I was a complete extrovert, being a bar owner and night club manager I was very outgoing and social but since I hit my 40s and left the industry I've withdrawn myself slowly but surely from all types of socialising and mixing with others.

Lockdown has now virtually turned me into a hermit.

I only really leave the house to go to work and shopping and nothing else

Yes I'm sure this has happened to me, I'm fine been out and about with strangers, shopping/restaurants ect, but dealing with friends seems a lot of hassle now

It’s definitely affected me. I’ve got more hermit like, except for my favourite people.

It’s made me more anxious about meeting new people too.

When the first lockdown started I thought 'At last the world has been remade in my image.'

I couldn't get much more reclusive or introverted. I've enjoyed the lockdowns.

I think I'm about the same? I always liked going out with friends but also staying at home and doing my own things and I find ways to never get bored.

Plus, with this beautiful thing called the internet I just chatted with my mates everyday anyway!

Ahh it's not such a bad thing to have made your world more select, a bit smaller. But we do need each other to bounce off, affirm ourselves, to give and to receive all the stuff we have to offer as humans.

I have definitely streamlined my circles which is lovely actually. I'm blessed with friends and family...and I'm open to new adventures. Lockdown encouraged me even more to just be, not chase anything.

We probably all had to shutdown a bit just to get through. I dont think it has made me more reclusive, I like getting out and about, just not with quite so many damn people as there are about now. Was there always that many of us out there or have we increased

Put your phone away in a drawer...come back in a week and see how many calls ..texts you have got ( other than work )..that will tell you just how much others are thinking of you.

Same for me Andy, i live alone, none of my mates are that close and i dont drive, but i like my own company, so am quite happy on my own, if i could move to an island in the outer hebrades i would, but have to stay where i am as f lives close as does my eldery mum, but lockdown hasnt really changed my life at all, im just an anti social bugger
