My problem with it is that o sometimes don't understand it so it takes longer for me to read. I have the attention span of a tired, two year old so it's not ideal really

Text speak was acceptable in the early days of SMS messages because of message length limits, but where there are no character limits, it's just lazy

Plus there's autocarrot which fills in words for you so you save no measurable time if you write mate instead of m8.
