Morning all am off work today and got me thinking what my first job was. It was 1972 a paperboy wage £1 a week its hard to think that £1 was OK still had change at end of week. Can you remember yours

Two paper rounds, £5 a week each, while a at school and playing rugby for my Sunday league team, and my city too. 2 weekly games, and 4 weekly training sessions

1970, piece work for a local nursery. Probably went home with 75p a day or something in the school holidays and at weekends. I saved £3:50 and bought my first pair of Levi's.

I was a paperboy. Then I worked Saturdays in our local sports shop. First propper job was on the bins, enjoyed that for a year it actually paid well for a 18 year old!

Hi, it sure was & I enjoyed spending every penny...out 4 nights aevery wk clubbing every week, 2 new outfits every wk too including shoes & handbag...spoilt I was...value for money was way better back then X

I was thinking about this yesterday while listening to absolute 90s, they where doing the chart for 1992. Took me back to JJB SPORTS, first real job not including paper rounds. I really couldn't do it now.

Nope. Just someone who didn't want to pay a decent wage and was ripping me off. But as it was my first job and because he allowed me to have flexible hours around my uni days, I hung around for a while!

Housemaid in a bed and breakfast. It was live in, I was 16 earning £90 a week and felt very grown up because I had a little ensuite with kitchen at the top of the house all to myself

I had part time jobs from the age of thirteen. I picked up a couple after 'Bob a job' week lol.

I had various jobs while I saved to go travelling when I was 18. Worked in kitchens, warehouses, fruit picking, painting and decorating, gardening. I did some really shitty jobs but it was ok as I had a goal and soent a year travelling which was absolutely brilliant
