"Dartmouth is very close, but it’s busy as fuck, I’m not a fan of Brixham, the old town and harbour is okay, but the rest is pretty shit. Venture down to the south Hams area, down around Slapton, Salcombe way. " Cheers mate. I think we're being tempted by Torquay now.

"Could visit Cockington. A seriously quaint village which you can walk around, and visit a glass blowing workshop. Has plenty of shops and cafes, and also has a pub. Could be a fun day out. Babbacombe has lots more to do with a model village and Kent's caves. Also Torquay is very close which has plenty of places to eat, drink and stroll and lots of hotels. B&B's and caravan parks. There's a steam railway from Paignton to Dartmouth. Have fun." Nice suggestions. Thanks very much

" I'm in Torquay, you can get the Western Lady ferry over to Brixham doesn't take long, or the 12 bus. In fact a £5 dayrider pass will get you from Dartmouth, Totnes all the way to Dawlish Warren and even Newton Abbot pretty good value I think. Anything you need to know just ask

It's pretty good depends on the route of course, the 12 is every 10 minutes Brixham to Newton Abbot via Paignton and Torquay

"Thanks everyone. These suggestions are all really helpful! If anyone has any suggestions for accommodation. I (Becky) would like a nice spa hotel for a couple of nights and then either a nice little B&B or potentially something quirky (I’m thinking glamping or a treehouse or something that’s fun in practice and not just in theory… like camping when it’s raining and you just end up soggy and miserable). We’re not set on the precise area and we’ll have a car but it seems like a nice part of the world to see! " The 25 in Torquay has been voted best B&B in the world on TripAdvisor 2 years running, not cheap though
