To all those among you who are a parent - whether it be alone as a sole carer (like me), with a partner; with or without any other form of support from friends or family; whether your children have flown the nest of whatever: You Absolutely Rock.

I’m still waiting for my own two priceless little bundles of fun-blocking cheeriness to come and serve me breakfast in bed - I’m going to give it until 10am! - and then I’m going paddle boarding with them.

My daughter can make porridge - without supervision - but my son couldn’t boil water. Much safer house when I control the flammable things myslef!

Mothering Sunday I got a fruit salad…… in a mixing bowl. I appreciated it of course but she sat and watched me munch my way through the entire fruit bowl. I had to give up before the end.

Although this year she boiled the kettle rather than pour water from the hot tap into my cafetière…. #itsthesmallthings
