"Interesting opinion in the news about the exploitation of Pride month by companies slapping the rainbow emblem on clothing and produce and taking all the profit. Some large companies displaying Pride support for a few weeks and doing nowt for the next 11 months just to prove their inclusive credentials. Some companies do support with monies going to LGB causes but is it mostly a money making exercise. Where does the gold at the end of the Rainbow go?" I didn't think they could use the emblem with out donating to the charity.

"Can a company patent a rainbow or rainbow colours ?" The rainbow flag isn’t trademarked, however some companies have trademarked their normal logo with a rainbow design within it. A specific colour isn’t trademarked on its own it has to be part of the wider design / logo

I get that. | |||

A trademark protects a company name, logo design from being used by another company or anything confusingly similar; a patent protects the design, ingredients, invention or specific mechanisms of a product. Not all of those who use the symbol during June donate to the charity, but many do

That's a bit sneaky. Cheers for that
