"Kane is not a captain. Look at the difference between him and Bale. Wales are a squad of players who for the most part wouldn’t be selected for England, but Bale lifts and motivates them. Will that motivation take us as far as it did in 2016? Probably not, but no one can ever say we never played without heart, passion and joy" I disagree about Kane but I absolutely agree with your point about passion. For all of the hype surrounding these young players, none of them excited or seemed to play at pace or with intent. It was a great result for Scotland and a well earned point, so not take away from them in any way shape or form, but if England were to live up to the ‘favourites’ tag, then last night was the point to prove it and they fell very far from the mark.

"So a mostly patchy and dull 0-0 last night, only interspersed with a few rare moments of quality for both teams, is probably the minimum that both teams would have taken before kick off. As a result England are almost through to the knockout stages of the tournament while Scotland remain firmly rooted at the bottom of Group D yet to score a goal. The game certainly didn’t live up to the hype and both sides were limited to a couple of half chances. Scotland now have a must win game on Tuesday, anything less than victory will see them exit the tournament and while England aren’t yet guaranteed a place in the knockout phases (will need at least a draw to be absolutely sure), the 4pts they already have might well be enough. Today though sees the conclusion of the second round of games with the final games from Groups E & F (the Group of Death!) and a chance to be neutrals once more, breath easy and just enjoy the football again! Portugal v Germany is the highlight for me at 5pm My score predictions today are: Hungary 0-3 France 2pm Portugal 1-2 Germany 5pm Spain 3-0 Poland 8pm What are your predictions? Who will be making headlines today? " The headline tonight will be Germany on brink of exit, because I fancy Portugal to at least get a point against the Germans… and then Portugal and France managed to manufacture a draw in the last game!

That’s actually a great shout Fabio, if they lose tonight the most they can get is 3pts, and will that be enough as a best 3rd place team? France and Portugal wouldn’t even need to fabricate a result provided France don’t lose to Hungary as they’d both be unassailable to the Germans. It’s a must not lose for the Germans tonight!

"England won't get much further than the next round unless they start to score some goals. Some teams have scored 5 or 6, England 1." It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish! Plenty of football to be played yet - last time out Portugal didn’t win at all in the group, 3 draws, went on to win the whole tournament. One game doesn’t make a tournament! Having said that, yes, we were shite!

"Talk about against the run of play, that’s silenced the Allianz! " Ronaldo was at least as offside as the German player in their disallowed goal. Not much but I saw it.

"What a turnaround! 2-1 Germany!! Group could be wide open again now ... Tournament football is great isn’t it? You can sit back and enjoy all the games as a neutral - then when England (or Scotland or Wales or whoever play) you have your 90 or 120 minutes of agony, then onto the neutral game again! Watching England is hard. Watching everyone else is a pleasure! " That’s very true! I often wonder how neutrals view England games and rate their chances away from all of the hyperbole of our press. This round of games has certainly turned up the heat

"Ooh 3-1 .. now that’s puts the cat amongst the pigeons. Will mean Portugal will need a least a draw v France, a defeat could mean the holders out in the group stage! " If the France Portugal game was a draw… and Germany win… the Germans win the group.. and you’d be starting at a England vs France last 16 game…..

"What a game! 4-2! So the winners of Englands group meets the 2nd place team in this group.. So assuming Germany beat Hungary in the final game, a France win v Portugal sees Germany finish 2nd in the Group, a Portugal win would come down to goal difference between them and the Germans as to who finishes first / second, and a draw in the France / Portugal game would see France finish second, as Fabio outlined above. Either way it’s a very tough game for England or the Czechs (whoever tops Group D) at Wembley a week on Tuesday! " Out of those 2 I think I'd prefer Portugal, they looked very deflated the final 30 minutes

"Spain v Poland was good in the first half. Got a bit meh in this second half " Aye and a penalty miss too so all in all a tough one for the Spanish who absolutely must win their last game or it’s adios!

Very unlike Spain but Poland did enough to keep them out. I've not been able to watch all the matches, so I might just be seeing dross, but the quality of the football I've seen at this tournament has been pretty meh. Wales v Turkey was the best I've seen (possibly biased!)

Hungry hanging on vs France also a good one if you like the tactical side of the game. All eyes on England Tuesday, not sure we want to top the group though. Anyone from that group of death will bop us.

As that’s the route that you have to take if you finish 2nd. Personally, I’ll take the 2nd team at home rather than the top team away.
