Following a thread yesterday about venturing into other forums, I saw comments about the Virus one being a bit 'dark' and to steer clear, but thought it can't be thay bad can it? ...WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!

it's like stepping out of the warm welcoming pub 'the Lounge Arms' where drinks are cheap the toilets are clean and everyone is friendly, and out onto the streets of wartorn Somalia like in Blackhawk Down.

Honestly, don't go there without weapons ready!

It's OK. Sometimes we have to dip our toe in there to remember how good it is in here

Grab yourself a nice hot drink and a biscuit, have a nap and get back into the swing of the lounges

I just kept my head down and ran until I got to the end of the street. There were bullets flying and explosions going off, it was terrifying

I tapped on it by mistake a couple of time and stayed for a bit. It wasn’t bad. Some rather good discussions in there.

I found the Swingers Forum to be rather more scary!!

Foolish OP, you're lucky to have left there relatively unscathed. Stick with the lounge and its rainbows and passive aggressive comments. And cake.

Clearly you didn't realise that Fab is full of highly trained medical experts educated to PHD levels who know more about viruses than the government, the NHS and their amateur advisors!!

I see you’re offering cakes now. It wasn’t quite so welcoming when I joined but that’s all right. As for passive aggressive, I don’t detect a hint of it at all.

I've never offered cakes, never will. I'm sure somewhere in the forum someone will though.

I don't understand the issue. There's some interesting discussions in there from both sides. People get angry sometimes because they are human.

Being passionate about something is better than fake glitter and Stepford wives smiles.

This, there's been some very informative stuff from people who work in the related field whilst yes there's also some 'interesting theories' also..

Having said that I barely go in the politics one now for some if the reasons given here .

Absolutely, just I'd imagine the virus getting a forum of its own was because this [Fab] is eventually about human physical contact and we'd all be better off clued up and ready, but as is with something of this nature, and human nature there are going to be differences of opinion.

Don't think it helped that I went in on "Ban me again, I dare ya" ...snipers, landmines and everything in that one!

It can get very heated, passionate some very strong views in there either side, a thick skin is definitely needed and an understanding your words will be misinterpreted. Been interesting watching people change over time the more it goes on. It can be pure comedy gold at times though

Comedy gold definitely.

I think my skin is like a crocodile.

The Virus forum is like the Comments section in the Daily Mail.

Ah. It's not all like that. Some posters try to share valid, scientifically accurate, factual information on there. If just one person gains a better understanding of how a viral disease behaves, what the tests do or don't mean etc, then I chalk that down as a positive.

Myself, I don't argue with people on there or insult them, I try (without being condescending, I hope), to educate.
