Honestly, find a 'best of' whatever genre playlist, and just go nuts. It's so hard to choose albums (I'd be here all day) but with music being so accessible right now it's fantastic!

Love 'The Wall'. Have you listend to 'Is there anybody out there' - basically it's 'The Wall' live.

Several albums I enjoy. I have a great many.

What would I recommend. Now there's a question.

'Out of the Blue' and 'Time' by ELO

'Love Over Gold' by Dire Straits

Just a few that come to mind. I'll have a think though and probably come back with a few more later

Not strictly a conventional 'album' but the unique 'Wall in Berlin' version of the above by Roger Waters with loads of exceptional guests is absolute top of my favourite Floydian offerings list.

To all who enjoy similar electronic style of that era, try browsing Klaus Schulze.

I hardly ever see him mentioned on music threads but I have enjoyed his work immensely. Try 'Timewind' or 'The Dome Event' for starters.

Some tracks are lengthy and almost as soporific as a Tangerine Dream concert but lots of good stuff...

Looking that way (the last paragraph), unfortunately.

Far too much accoustic guitar strumming and early Bob Dylan vocal intensity for me!

Might give it another go and ask friends for a second opinion. Nothing to lose. Thanks anyway, I wouldn't have come across it otherwise...

Some all time classics top to bottom there. I'll go a little off-piste and suggest Senser 'Stacked Up'.

Groundbreaking musical agitators of the highest order, Senser were one of the most exciting bands in the UK during the early 90s. Emerging from the strange and nebulous counter-culture that existed in a peculiar grey area between the outer limits of the British rave explosion and the politically-charged anarcho-punk scene, they stood noisily apart from everything else that was going on around them, hurling scything metal riffs and bruising rap diatribes into the mix, several years before the nu-metal scene exploded and turned those same ingredients into something far less challenging or inventive.

(yes I cut and paste that from a review!)

In reality very few albums are 100% all killer no filler, but this is one of the few. If you're not into semi-acoustic folksy Americana it won't be for you, but if you are... you probably already know it. Literally not a dud track on it.

Got to have something by the Durutti Column, Vini Reilly is a brilliant guitarist with his own unique sound.
