EURO 2020 Day 7 : The 10th minute

Congrats to Italy who, following yesterday’s results, are the first team to qualify for the knockout stages with a game still to go, and also Wales who are *almost certainly* there with 4 pts already in the bag after their great win v Turkey!

Today is the return of Denmark after the horrific events of last weekend with a game against fancied Belgium. I understand they’ve agreed to kick the ball out in the 10th minute for Christian Eriksen (number 10) who thankfully continues to recover in hospital.

Anyway, today’s predictions :

Ukraine 3-0 North Macedonia 2pm

Denmark 0-2 Belgium 5pm

Netherlands 3-1 Austria 8pm

Who do you think will win today?

I like these kinds of moments in football where events and people transcend the matches. The fact that it’s such a big game only heightens the moment.

One down, two to go! Belgium must be faves in the next game but it’s an away game .. should be a good one at 5pm?

An early lead for Denmark after 2 mins.. the Belgians aren’t infallible after all! Decent crowd in too, no reason we can’t get more into Wembley going forwards ..

If you didn't tune in for the Ukraine - N Mac you missed by far the most entertaining game so far. Three goals, one disallowed goal piss poor pennos missed and a yellow card for a dive so bad the player was laughing even as the ref booked him. Top stuff.

They've definitely all come onto the pitch with the intention of playing football, that's for sure Clive

it’s often the less “glamorous” games that are the best! Shame it was a 2pm game and most will have missed it!

Great minutes applause on 10 mins in the Denmark game for Eriksen

What a turnaround .. after being very disappointing in the first half the Belgians have certainly turned up 2nd half and a 1-0 HT deficit is now a 2-1 lead.. form is temporary class is permanent!

What a stadium that looks in Copenhagen : close to the pitch, tight stands, great atmosphere .. one for the bucket list I reckon!

I think that they will be undone by the Italians in the quarters…

How do others feel about the ITV commentary team?

Personally I can’t stand Clive (best game ever) Tyldesley

Actually… been there! … well… the old parken anyway!

Arsenal played Parma in a cup winner’s cup final there… all I remember is the Danes laid on a super cheap alcohol tent… I was blitzed way before kickoff .. and the put plastic trumpets on all our seats!!!

I have never been so d*unk at a football game…. Happy days!!!!

Sounds awesome! I’ve only been to Copenhagen once (not for football) and it was amazing! Also can’t wait to get into a full stadium again.

I’m preferring the BBC coverage both in terms of commentary and pundits. I actually prefer radio commentaries tbh

BBC pictures with red button 5live, it's always surprising that Rob Green doesn't sound like Worzel Gummidge

Netherlands and Italy looking like the best teams so far. Good to see after they both missed the 2018 world cup

"Netherlands and Italy looking like the best teams so far. Good to see after they both missed the 2018 world cup "

can they maintain it or have they peaked too early? Will a team who builds momentum through the tournament be the ultimate winners? We will see

I thought second half belgium looked pretty good too... Considering they didn't get out of 2nd gear. And the one man team that is Portugal.
