Do you sound your age?

So, yesterday I was having a discussion with a customer about a technical issue he had

He said 'I was talking to a guy last week, he sounded younger'

Jokingly, I said 'are you saying I sound old?'

Well...

This got me thinking, how does someone sound old(er)?

Cos we do don't we?

We may not hear it, the changes might be small, but our voices do alter as we get older

So, would your voice give your age away?

I dunno, I got told I just sound blokey, so what age is blokey, I’m thinking later 30’s early 40’s ?!

Godalming

It depends on who I’m speaking to.

Out with friends I sound young and silly.

When instructing and teaching I sound much older and more authoritative

.

Yes probably. I can do quite a good higher pitched "girly" voice but for the most part my essentially male sounding low timbre gives away my advanced years.

I'm not that old I get the reference! A quick YouTube says yes, that's exactly like my voice.
