"Topper......." I had the odd Topper in between but never a regular read .. about 2 years ago someone was selling an almost pristine complete years worth (1982 I think) on eBay, so I got them for about £20. Almost like new, been kept boxed away so no ageing or discolouring. A great bit of nostalgia!

"2000 A.D. Still have most of them in sealed boxes somewhere in the attic from about prog 400 onwards. Lost prog 1-399 when my mother decided to burn these "worthless comics" taking up space in my bedroom at the time. " Haven't got the comics but I've still got some 2000AD, Judge Dredd and a Rogue Trooper annual(s).

"Misty, Jackie, Smash Hits and an other mag I can't remember the name of that use to have song lyrics in. " I’d forgotten Misty & Smash Hits, reminded me of another one that did the rounds at school, Look-In, mixture of music, movies and general stuff

"That's bringing back memories Beano and Dandy for sure, then 2000AD when I was a bit older" My older brother used to get 2000AD - never really got into it myself but maybe I was too young to appreciate it at the time

Did the teen girls mags have lots of pics of dishy male pop stars? " They were not girlie! Actually the main characters were boys and my favourite childhood books were often based around mini kids gangs getting up to lots of troubles and adventures
