The Refuge hotel has a really good bar.

If the weather is nice and you plan on going to Sinclair's get there early, it gets packed. Lovely setting near the cathedral and you'll be amazed how cheap it is for the location.

The Fitzgerald- cool classy fab drinks.

The Alchemist- great vibe, cool place

Speak in code - great vibe.

Quite honestly manchester is the best night out you will go on.

Craft ale central if your into that.. theres so many craft ale bars.

Manchester has so much to offer, just avoid the run of the mill 'revolution' ect and taste real manchester

There's literally tons of bars in The Northern Quarter

Head for Thomas Street / Oldham Street / Stevenson Square and you will have 30/40 to choose from

From my last visit:

20 Stories is amazing, but plush.

I enjoyed Dirty Martini, more down to earth.

Agree with previous comments about The Alchemist.
