How annoying is that….have others come across this?

That’s not good….even if there is extraordinary circumstances a quick message will suffice to say can we reschedule….anyway it’s criminal you get let down by them.

I had a meet arranged last Saturday, confirmed time but then they went quiet 6pm the day before. Messaged them day of meet to confirm. A few hours later they read the message but never replied, they have since blocked me

Life at the moment means arranged meets sometimes get cancelled at short notice. I booked a hotel after arranging a meet but the person in question had to cancel. I was able to cancel the hotel without cost. The person was very considerate when they messaged me in time for that and is on the site still.

There will always be those that are not and there is an option on the report a member facility to do just that.

I think they should have a reliability score on here so you can decide if they aren’t reliable then you pass them by

If you could make it tied to a meeting then there maybe no room for lying.

There could be an option for a box to check on someone’s profile that you are meeting them, then 24 hours after there could be a option to say whether the meeting went ahead or not.

If it didn’t then it would flag on their profile

I've had it happen, been sat there all ready to go and they suddenly went quiet, time for them meeting me came and went,checked the profile and they were showing they were in the chat rooms, went and nosied and sure enough they were there getting there rocks off on cam. Needless to say they were blocked

Were they verified in anyway, photo, meeting, cam? If not, then possibly a bit more due diligence required, like speaking on the phone etc before arranging meeting.

It is common on here though, a lot of egos being massaged - some of the examples above are shockers.

I think that what happens is that people build too much expectation into a first meet, really push their limits in terms of what they say they want to do, and get cold feet.

I usually try to do the opposite, keep it low key, just meet for a drink or coffee or lunch, let them choose where to go (again takes away a potential cause of anxiety), and just take it from there.

It's happened to me over the years, and is damn annoying. Yes, life can get in the way with unexpected issues, but as long as the other party gets in touch, all is OK.

It's those who cut out and don't say a thing, whom I despise.

On a similar theme, I once went to a meet after sorted out communication right up to the day and everything was positive.

I drove 30 miles in heavy traffic but arrived on time. Knocked on their front door, they both answered and she said, "we changed our minds yesterday, go away!"

I drove home, wondering why only 8 hours before, they hadn't told me they'd altered the plans and let me drive over???

If only it was a perfect world?

The best thing to remember is that nobody owes anyone a meet, no matter how much they've talked about it or promised.

If women change their mind, they are free to do so. A lot of the time they ghost because a fair amount of the men on here can be INCREDIBLY aggressive in response, and going silent may seem the easiest way to deal with it, short of blocking the men. If it happens, take a deep breath, deal with it, and move on to finding someone else instead.

That’s crap! And no communication to say otherwise. That’s 60 miles of unnecessary wear and tear on your car as well as your time

Happens so often. So annoying that people can’t even have enough respect for another human to message and cancel. I take it as fear of disappointment these days.

Have to sympathise with OP, yes I have had around 4 no shows, even upgrading hotel room to a nice suite so we could have more space.

Only once did i get a message to say they could not go through with it, even then it was way after meet time, the other 3 not a sound and then blocked me on FAB.

I guess I just need to roll with it more.

The same happened to me a couple of years back.

We arranged a hotel meet, had the hotel room booked and the person I spoke to went quiet. I went to the hotel and waited but she never turned up.

It left me disappointed and a bit upset but luckily, a couple of friends who heard what happened when I told them invited me to go to a club with them which I agreed and it made my evening a better one.

I've done this, someone asked to meet said I needed to chat with M etc. It had not been confirmed that we were actually meeting. I messed up in work big time, after that conversation, had to work overtime nights and the weekend to fix it. To be honest I was so stressed fab didn't cross my mind. I did appologise after and explained I messed up and sent my anxiety into overdrive. Things happen unfortunately.

Happened to us now so now we either arrange to meet single guys at club or at there place so I can check venue out before wife meets them ,that mainly sorts the time wasters out or so call single guys out , for couples arrange social meet at pub , if they don’t turn up we will have drink and go ,if only one half turns up , unless it’s just wife , we won’t make ourself known lol

Had a it of a scary thing today had a meet arranged was nearly there and get a withheld call he said its **** from fab so I said the **** I'm meeting today? He then said ohh are we meeting today I cant remember where I lost the details on my phone so I said where then thought hang on he wouldn't forget? So said what time we meeting he said a wrong time! He then said I just saw u in a pink dress on **** road ! Shall I pick u up? I said no shall meet u at costa like we arranged! He then hung up! I phoned the **** I was meeting and he said no he not rung ! I was in 2 minds to return home as was bit scared!

strange how he had same first name although it is very comman name! And it must b someone who has my number? I continued to meet although I said txt when u there and I wait nearby in case other one showed up! And had a good meet in end x

It's the main reason I arrange socials fairly quickly after we start chatting, s out the people who aren't really ready to meet for whatever reason. Plus for meets, I don't bother with preparing unless I hear from them within a few hours of the meet. Make a joke of it by saying I don't shave my legs till they've confirmed

I have realised that some of them aren't who they pretend to be.

I suggested it once, perhaps even traffic lights icons but many were against it, as it may be abused.

I think meets invites could be sent and accepted, with users then requested to confirm attendance, safety factors etc too, potentially building up reliability ratings.

Dont its them! U probably dodged a bullet! There is very rarely a reason not to meet! It's like me today I got so spooked out I really wanted to turn back home! But thought I cant do that to someone who's travelled to meet! Its unkind x

Happens all the time. Have people say we will.meet on x, y, z or unspecified day , you agree and then nothing. Pure radio silence forever and ever.

We tend to approach it with the mindset that if we dont meet them soon-ish after initial contact, we probably never will.
