Now then ladies. Has anyone of you gone to the beauty parlour and got their vagina waxed? If so how was it? Did it hurt? Is it worth it?

I'm thinking of getting mine done so would like to hear other people's experiences.

It doesn’t not hurt but it’s not horrendous. If you have it all off that tends to hurt more x

I have never had this done and am rather tempted to do it. So pleased to see this thread.

Please excuse my naivety now but I need your help.... what do I ask for to have all hair removed (intimate waxing incl)?

Thanks in advance

I wax at home myself. I bought a wax pot like they have in the salons, i just buy extra wax pellets and the wooden sticks. The regrowth itch is an annoyance but i’d never go back to any other method of hair removal in that area now.

.

Yes I've had a Hollywood wax done a fair few times now (I'm dreading going back post lockdown and the pain!). It's not too bad, the first one can hurt a bit. Do take some paracetamol a bit before, don't drink as that can raise your body temperature and make the wax sticker and harder to remove from you. If you trim your hairs and make sure you've exfoliated down there (gently!) it helps with hair removal.

I find it slightly mortifying the positions my beautician makes me get in but then I think fuck yes I'm so flexible.

It's a bit daunting OP and can sting but sensitivity is increased and I prefer the general feel. Oh and don't do it when you're due on/on your period. I mean you can but it hurts a fuck ton more.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I keep considering it..... but then I give up and shave. Badly usually. I need an assistant.

On a mooch

Hot wax every time, lockdown reminded me why it’s my go to.

The first time of having it done is a bit wtf (as was first visit in a year after lockdown) but it’s over quick just like pulling a plaster and none of the regrowth issues.

I've had Hollywood waxes. It does smart for a few seconds after each pull...but where I go she distracts me by joining in with my random nonsense conversations so we usually both end up giggling and I forget about the pain. I can't shave as I get such bad razor rash and ingrowing hairs, and the only depilatory cream that works is Magic Shave, and waxing feels much better than that.

I had a Hollywood wax and yes first time hurts but its super smooth. Hubby noticed a difference and even when it's sort for a few days you feel super clean and nice. well worth it.

I recently had my first and yes it hurt when she pulled the wax off but fine afterwards. I've been told the next one will hurt less, I will be able to tell you in a few days!

It's been 4 weeks nearly and I am finding living with the regrowth difficult. I am used to being smooth so the last week I have been very tempted to reach for the razor. Apparently the regrowth will slow once I get into a routine so will see how it goes long term.

Kx

Don't know if that helps but I have attempted waxing in the past - legs were OK, armpits drew blood and were very uncomfortable, as for intimate areas I could barely do the bikini line let alone anything else - excruciating pain and it drew blood.

I got used to an electric epilator for legs and armpits so have used it for years now.

Struggled with bikini line and vulva areas, shaving gives me a rash and depilatory cream was not pleasant. Eventually I discovered electric trimmers and won't even consider anything else now. I tried two over the years and both were OK then I got a third which came with a new epilator when my old one died. This one trims super close to the skin and I am very pleased with it.

Trimmers also have attachments for length so the hair can be shaped (I keep the hair above vulva and shape it but I am sure it can trimmed off).

I think it depends on your budget (rechargable electric epilator and trimmer are very economic), how high your pain threshold is, how well you can tolerate the regrowth and the mess of wax as well as having to spend time on booking and attending appointments (or successful at waxing yourself). I am a complete convert to electrical devices and perhaps the pain I felt from wax was just me as there seems to be lots of women who use wax. Hard to tell until you actually try it.

I get mine done once a month. I used to get it all off but now I keep a triangle.

At first it does hurt but it gets less painful over time. It only takes about 10-15 mins though and some parts hurt more than others. So the most uncomfortable part is over in a few minutes.

Personally I think it's 100% worth it as I love how smooth it is without all the red dots and inflammation I used to get from shaving. It looks so much nicer, especially on someone as dark haired as me. It's also nice to have a step less to do in the shower.

"So I'll be walking like John Wayne haha. What sort of positions they put you in? I just assumed you lay down?"

It depends on the waxer. Most of the women at my salon just get me to start on my side with my knees pulled up and using one hand to open my butt cheeks . Then they do the rest with me on my back with one foot against my thigh and pulling my thigh a bit to keep things taught. I had a different lady one time though who had me holding my legs up . She was very quick though!

At first when I read that "one foot against my thigh" I had visions of their foot on your thigh for balance and leverage purposed

I have a Hollywood once a month. First time it hurt like hell and the first one after lockdown hurt but I just had my 2nd one after lockdown and it wasn't that painful.

My lady just gets me to lie on my back and the only awkward position is when I have to put my knees to my chest and pull my cheeks apart.

The end result is amazing, I love it. I did end up trying 3 places before I found this current perfect one

I’ve had the whole of my body done, I went in the deep end and that was my first ever waxing experience.

Yes it hurt but I think that was because it as unexpected! Doesn’t hurt these days, and I’ve been doing it at home whilst we were in lockdown, you kinda get used to it!

I O T

Would agree with you ladies it's a pretty liberating feeling being totally smooth. Definitely should take some painkillers beforehand & yes over time the discomfort reduces to the point it can be "pain is pleasure" Your experience will be different & sometimes it can cause an "ouch" or two but take the plunge find someone who has some good recommendations as aftercare does make a difference & just try it. I was dared by a previous gf who maintained a hollywood style & have been waxing ever since

I do waxing for a living and I go and get it done. Fair play to the lady that does it herself, I couldn’t!

Make sure it isn’t too long as this will hurt more, also not towards the time of the month as more sensitive. Hot wax (the pellets) is slightly less painful but takes a lot longer to do. As said before take some pain killers and it’s never as bad as the first time.

Oh and it’s what we’re trained to do so don’t ever feel awkward about it!

You won’t regret getting it done, hair comes through so much smoother and less of it

as a guy fully agree, so much nicer than shaved and grows back so nice and smooth. I used to book my gf every 6 weeks though not monthly, to enjoy that softness

I’m opting for laser soon aswell!

I love waxing, but the idea of very little hair growth from laser and possibly permanently hair free is wonderful.

I can’t bloody wait. I’ve had laser elsewhere. Price point is around £85 per session and you’ll

Need 6-8 sessions and then an annual top up. It sounds expensive but how much do we all spend on razors and waxing?! Hair….Be gone!
