Evening everyone! Hope you’ve all had a great weekend!

Wondering if anyone watched the football earlier on? Think we’re bringing it home? Because yet again I’ve fallen for the tournament hype and placed all my hopes and dreams on our team! And may have convinced myself it’s in the bag Ha

Let’s hope it’s not misplaced eh?

With England I've learned over the years to hope for the best but to expect the worst. We are the worst performing major European footballing nation. We've never got to the Euro's final whereas relative outsiders like Denmark and Greece have won it. I want them to do well but my emotions are well and truly in check. I'm not going to apply any pressure on them. Hopefully they'll play some good, attractive football for once and not go out on a whimper.

We were pretty underwhelming against a poor Croatia though werent we? Not many teams will be worried by that performance.... Whereas Italy and Belgium looked impressive, even Netherlands. Still we won so its a good start. Can't see us getting past last 16 though.

In my football supporting past I’ve followed England home and away all over Europe but gave up because it became a total waste of time and money due to the lack of passion shown on the pitch but with Southgate I personally feel that the players are still overpaid but the pride in playing for your country has slightly returned.

Yesterday wasn’t brilliant but it was what it was which is three points so job done but there’s a long way to go yet to glory but I’m more hopeful than normal.

Please excuse my downbeat post but then I am a Southend United fan!!!
