You've just got to do it asap. They'll probably think you're BS-ing whatever you say, so just have to let them know early and hope they're cool with rescheduling.

Honestly yes it would especially if you knew beforehand it could happen and if the person has to travel. Unless it is real unforeseen circumstances the I would be very peeved off if someone cancelled an hour before we were meant to meet. But I suppose better than not turning up .

"What are your thoughts?

How late would you leave it to cancel a meet without being rude?? "

I've had a meet cancelled with 2 hours notice recently. I accepted their reason and we've reschedule.

Personally if I arrange a meet knowing there's a possibility I'll have to cancel, for whatever reason, I'll tell the person when we're arranging it. That way if the situation comes up, then they're kinda pre-warned anyway.

Its your call as to whether you do a re-meet.

Good luck OP.

Its just nice to know if the person you are meeting isn’t going to turn up, rather than being left to speculate.

If thats a week, a day or an hour at least you know and can then amend your plans.

As soon as I know I need to cancel.

If a situation is developing, eg I have a mild cold and the other party might not want to meet, I'll update them.

Perhaps they've gone to some trouble to arrange the meet... childcare or coordinating arrangements with hubby...or getting an outfit ready. It's only fair to let them know ASAP, then they might have the chance to arrange something for the same date with someone else.

An hour before would be reasonable if someone got ready for a meet and discovered their car had a flat tyre or wouldn't start. Or some other genuine last minute issue. I've had someone cancel on me because she crashed her car on the way to where we were meeting.

If due to a foreseeable reason, perhaps. If it's because their kid puked, their car broke down, Northern Rail ballsed up etc, then it's quite possibly reasonable. Entirely dependent on the situation.

If they knew 24 hours before but only told you an hour before then it's a bit poor. But I'm inclined to always give the benefit of the doubt and it's the behaviour and attitude after that determines whether it worth trying again.

I agree with others - if you need to cancel, it should be done as soon as you know.

I have had to cancel meets twice. Once I had arranged to meet a play partner in the evening, went to the bathroom at lunchtime and found my period had unexpectedly started, so immediately sent him a message to cancel. The other one, which I feel really bad about, I had to cancel 30 minutes before - I was just about to leave the house when one of my dogs had a seizure. He was really pissed off, but what could I do?

Shit happens sometimes.

I'm very upfront so I'd cancel as soon as I knew with honest reasons.. What ever they were.

There are so many different reasons for cancelling .. Life happens, things change, minds change. In an ideal world we would all behave respectfully and communicate honestly.

AND..

Its really important that people do what they need to do regardless of who they might be letting down.

If it's a cancel because of cold feet/changed mind.. And I spent a while getting ready, tidying my house and looking forward to something.. Yes it would be disappointing, I might even stomp or have a cry. But I'd rather that person did the right thing for them than feel obligated.

I'm pretty secure in myself though.. I can see how that could be very triggering and tough for some.

However late it needs to be.

If you genuinely can’t make a meet then it’s only going to be for reasons outside of your control.

If the reasons are outside of your control you have no choice on how late you’re cancelling.

I had to cancel a meet with a couple, first meet too.

They lived 25mins away so I drove over to their home and my car broke down 15 mins into the journey.

They wanted to come and pick me up to play still but my car needed recovery.

They were cool about it and we met up another time.

If he had been an established well verified guy, he should have had a mate who could stand in his place. A pal of mine who is known to a lot of the old school in South Wales as he worked in swinger clubs, would occasionally ring me up and ask me if I could stand in his place, if something suddenly cropped up, and he couldn't make it. I can only assume that he was a rank amateur, and not worth bothering with. His loss, not yours.

Things happen. If you have to cancel or reschedule then so be it if the other party gets stroppy (so long as its a genuinely unavoidable reason) then he/she/they probably arnt worth your time boils down to having an adult mindset. Not just urges to scratch

And been that situation myself with a 10 min notice just as I was about to spend 2hrs on a train to meet no names but they suddenly vanished from site very fishy so in times like that you can't help but be suspect

I call bull shit on this. No decent nan would think a woman would be happy with another random guy she's never chatted to turning up in their place.

Why is someone a rank amateur if something came up and they cancelled? At least they let her know. Not like someone I was due to meet last week who just didn't bother to turn up and hasn't ever responded to texts.

The other people have always been told that I, or indeed any other guys were coming in his place, and so not let down. They have invariably known that I was coming, including speaking to me on the phone, and it's then their call, if they want to carry on, and meet up. If anyone of you has arranged a gang bang, and experienced the let downs, and no shows by time wasters, daydreamers or wannabes, you would appreciate the opportunity to have someone to stand in. As for the guy thinks that I am full of bullshit, read the verifications, which I could plaster the profile with. I’d like a day but sometimes - in fact most times the reason to cancel is something that crops up last minute and is urgent enough to take priority. I had a cancellation before the weekend for today but the reason just sounded so lame I’d rather they said they got a better offer or they had changed their mind - honesty is the best policy I guess. You get a feel for someone as you chat to them and that’s why I like to get to know someone a bit before meeting.

When a man is meeting women in swingworld then you must expect hiccups in the process on some occasions. Issues happen to disrupt lives and the meeting cannot take place or in hopefully few instances the woman may " not be feeling it" as she gets closer to the meet day/time. The solution for a man is to roll with it and accept the explanation and not be disappointed. When appropriate a new date can be arranged and all will be well. What is reasonable however is for as much notice to be given as possible and if possible being put on warning of any potential problems such as being unwell. If one has chosen a potential playmate wisely and conducted oneself properly then the consideration is mutual

It was me, a female who called bull shit. Your veris got there by virtue of soneone else doing the leg work for you in that case

If the women were happy with the situation then fair enough. You didn't specify it was a gang bang situation. How many were 1 on 1 meets?

To imply that someone is a rank amateur because they didn't send in their standby mate is ridiculous. I feel your experience is in thd minority as I can't think of a single female friend on here who would be happy getting the understudy on a 1 to 1 meet.

None of them were ever one on one meets, and it is a swinging site that we are on for those of us who appreciate alternative lifestyles. One on one meets are something that I do on straight dating sites, and then with only like minded women who are not narrow minded or judgemental.

Thank you all for the private messages of support on this matter of cancellation as you all have obviously had similar experiences. It's obvious that I've said something controversial but once again I will say that this site is no place for time wasters, daydreamers and wannabes.

When people refused to write you a verification , did a stand it do it for them ?

That's a good idea Simpleshag..... a good idea indeed.

I'm warming to this stand in thing.

"If he had been an established well verified guy, he should have had a mate who could stand in his place.

I was once sitting in a pub waiting for someone to turn up. Suddenly she messaged me saying 'something urgent' had cropped up and she couldn't make it. The next day on her profile she was moaning about the guy who had failed to turn up (and named him as a timewaster). That's right, she'd blown me out for a last minute 'better offer' who had also blown her out. Karma.

"None of them were ever one on one meets, and it is a swinging site that we are on for those of us who appreciate alternative lifestyles. One on one meets are something that I do on straight dating sites, and then with only like minded women who are not narrow minded or judgemental.

Thank you all for the private messages of support on this matter of cancellation as you all have obviously had similar experiences. It's obvious that I've said something controversial but once again I will say that this site is no place for time wasters, daydreamers and wannabes."

this has cheered my Monday morning up no end lol

The reason people got het up about it is because you never clarified in your original statement that it was only for group play or that the women were consulted first. This site and swinging is not just about group play. It was obvious from the original post that this was relating to a 1 on 1 meet and for you to suggest that any man worth his salt would just send someone else in to finish the job is actually pretty scary in that situation.

I don't care if people think I'm 'cancelling' you (or attempting to). When a women arranges to meet a man online and gets attacked the first question is 'what did they do to make sure this person is safe?'. It usually takes a lot of questioning, social meets first etc before someone is happy to meet someone else.

For the majority of women the insinuation that any pole is a goal (which is essentially what your post implies) is insulting to say the least, even in a gangbang situation. But hey, if you're happy getting by as a stand in then who are we to comment.

No one gives a flying fuck about your verifications so stop using them like some sort of get out of jail free card .

Also.... Use reply and quote so people know who you're replying to

Well she got what she deserved. I guess we all at some stage have been blown off for Someone else that they think is better than sexier and more fun than you. That is fab for you.But then they get the harsh reality of someone treating them the same as they have done to you.

Everyone can have something that can crop up at the last minute and have to cancel. its unfortunate but that's life. If it was a reasonable and genuine reason I'd accept it and give another chance but if it happened again then that would be it for me. So the question is how much notice should one give for cancelling. I guess its down to the individuals involved. Depending on whether they know each other well enough and have an understanding with each other. I would at least give 24 hours notice as I feel without a reasonable genuine reason its rude and disrespect. Just treat people as you would like them to treat you. If it would feel shitty to have something done to you then don't do it to someone else simple.

Well I was suppose to meet at 12 today, in the car driving over and they just messaged (11.35) saying can’t do it. It’s a pain as I booked some time off work for it, but it is what it is, somethings cannot be helped.

If it’s a one off then that’s life but if they keep doing it then I’d not agree to meet them again.

You might be surprised how many people men and women, are both on here, and on straight dating sites, both are equally useful for meeting people where you are on the same wavelength, and sometimes that leads on to playing as a couple where she is in a safe, and protected environment.

Thank you for actually taking the time to read my profile, and verifications, and judging by the viewings my profile has had today, one or two may have been surprised by the feedback, and perhaps if they had done so beforehand, would not have been shooting from the hip.

I personally don't particularly like correspondence by email or text because, a word or phrase taken out of context can often be misinterpreted, hence the reason why I prefer early telephone conversation.

I'd be unhappy too, having to cancel but not as unhappy as being stood up. So it's important to let them know ASAP and if you are happy to rearrange, which may soften the blow. Nobody wants to do it but it might happen sometime.

This.

I had to cancel one before it was even finalised, as it became clear it wasn’t going to be practical.

But sometimes that amount of advance notice just doesn’t exist…. If you had a family emergency an hour before a meet for example, you’d have to cancel and say at that point.
