Either way, black and white for underlining specific features or emotions. Colour for anything else.

B/W shot on film, with each film's unique spectral response to light and colour temperature, yeah.

Well lit, artistically composed, either works.

Shit lighting, amateur camerawork? Monochrome doesn't save that. A shit photo is a shit photo no matter how artsy the creator thinks they've made it with a single-press filter.

For my own pics I can look nice in one style but not in the other and that just depends on the pic, so I have a mix of pic styles in my gallery.
