Why do people attempt to do it?

Or turning something into a who can piss the highest contest?

Inferiority complex? Or alpha bollocks? Both? Or just being a bit thick (emotionally /intellectually. Delete or not as appropriate)?

All of the above. I don't wish to sound like a man-hater but...the male ego is a VERY fragile thing and some men can be incredibly entitled. Theres a common phrase that sums it up for me - there is nothing more sensitive than a white man on the internet.

I also think there is a primal instinct within men to peacock and jostle for position like stags. Women are perhaps more subtle and "pick me" about me. This is made worse on Fab by the odds being against them due to the maths.

I think on Fab, people can be meaner than they are in the real world as there's generally less respect for people, plus the added element of a certain amount of anonymity.

'Cos some people are up their own arse & have a constant need to shove their "higher intellect" in everyone's face, lest we forget about them..?

Yeah..

Especially when they're blissfully ignorant of how, er, ignorant they are.

I have no idea what the 'someone' has said or to 'who' so I can assess whether it was an attempt at belittlement ...... Generally insult is assumed ....

Attempted insult , to my way of thinking, is when the 'slinger' has no rational , reasonable argument to make.

Youu might need to explain to him how she wasn't being racist. Care in the community type thing.

I'm allowed to reply to something I see on the forum as long as I stay within the rules which I have done.

If it was a man I'd do the same thing and pull them up on it as I did recently.

Just because it's a woman is no defence for display ignorance and using skin colour to attack people or gender.

I do not see how anyone can defend that unless they agree with the view.

I am allowed my right of reply as long as I stay withing the rules

It's neither sexism or racism but an observation. Of identify common characteristics.

Often, those highest up in the hierarchy are the most entitled. Top of the tree are "white men" - not all, obviously, as that can be broken down into all kinds of sub categories, but in general.

Those who are used to getting their own way do tend to kick off the most when it suddenly doesn't go how they want.

I didn't invent the phrase, it's in common parlance in response to how white men frequently respond to significant events, such as #MeToo and #BLM. It's the rise of of the incels etc.

I really can't be arsed with all that shit.

If they think it makes them a better person then it's quite sad.

If another skin colour was used apart from white. Would people still defend it? Of course not.

You're kind of proving my point with this.

9 out of 10 murders in the UK are committed by men. Is it sexist to point that out? White men are king of the jungle, so to speak. That doesn't mean they're all bad or are not ever disadvantaged, bit rather that collectively, their status as males and white are.not liley to be characteristics that are the cause of them being held back.
