Double breasted or single?

I start this in a clean fashion, but I can imagine where it's heading.

I need some fashion advice. My son is going to his prom and I need to know if he'd look better in a double or single breasted suit.

He's going for grey with a black shirt n tie. Don't think a waistcoat is necessary.

Our son who is v slim and of average height looked really good in a single breasted suit with slim cut trousers recently. It had a discreet check in the fabric. He wore a tie and crisp white shirt. I've got a photo of him looking fabulous leaning against a wall.

Ok so I'm biased and he's probably 15 years older than your son but...

Yes, agreed. I don't even want to buy a suit jacket, let alone new shoes and the rest as I know it'll get benched straight after. Does any where do hire?

Actually, he asks me to dress him. It's about the only thing he does say at 16. That and I'm hungry.

Single breasted, two button (but only do up the top one). Personally, I wouldn’t match shirt and tie colour, but that’s just me. Shoes, socks and belt should match.

Single breasted.

Next have some nice suits and if you have time to go round them so do some charity shops.

The suit might come in handy for interviews etc afterwards

Thank you all. I'll try and trawl the shops, but I'm not keen. I do like a black tie (sheen or woven) on a black shirt. Single breasted it is. I forgot the belt too!

Do Tkmaxx still do suits???

If so you could get a lucky bag kinda find.

I was in one with a mate of mine years ago for holiday TShirts and he came out with a lovely CK brown suit only needed hem fixing at the Tailors, I thought he was mad until I saw it at the Xmas party months later, cracking suit. Little money.

Quite possibly, but for now I'll stick with M&S meat, fresh pancakes and that tasty fig & hazelnut bread.

"Body shape?

Slim athletic as in more running? As opposed to slim but quite muscular?

If that's the case single breast.

If the has the physique for it and has a lady friend a shirt he can roll the sleeves up on, and a waistcoat might help him out

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

I'd say single breasted.

Proper bow tie and the cherry on top of the cake - a Cumberband. Noithing more stylish than that!!!

Here's a link hope it helps... Got to go to chemists.

OH, and I forgot shiny shoes. There is nothing worse than having the gear and then having crap shoes... Make him clean his shoes or buy new ones.

Single breasted, either slim or tailored fit. It will help you to have his measurements as well, you want at least chest and length.
