"Start dropping hints about meeting and see the reaction. Well she invited me to her hotel room when she comes to check out the city xx" Assume nothing, ask outright. I really wish people would just state their intention clearly.

"Oh OP. Signals eh? How does one read them, perhaps how we interpret them is based on our own desires? For example there is someone I have been interested in for a while and I told her, we have been friends for a few years and well to cut a long story short, I felt that she needed to know that my feelings had developed. She was nice about it, but ultimately didn’t appear interested. So I did the right thing, I stepped right back, was always there as a friend but reduced our contact from almost daily to occasionally. Recently she messaged me, and as usual we were laughing and joking via text with her throwing insults my way. So I said “why do you always feel the need to insult me eh?” She replied “it’s like punching girls at school, it means I like you, I will stop. Immediately” So where does one go with that? I could read it both ways but the reality is, she isn’t interested in me as anything more than a friend. It is only my desires that read more into it. So OP (phew what a lot of waffle) I think until someone states it explicitly, you should play it cool. " Good advice (please see post just before yours for an update). For what it’s worth, I’d say your situation suggests that she does like you (that’s how I’d read it anyway - whether she wants to act on it is another matter, although I’d rather not know than know and not be able to do anything about it)

As for my situation, I wish you were right, but alas, I no longer pursue that hope.
